Can You Really Learn Guitar By Yourself

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

Since the guitar is probably one of the most popular instruments in the world, there are plenty of people who want to learn it. And whenever there?s a student, there?s a teacher.

It?s true that there are many guitar teachers out there who believe the only way to properly learn guitar is through a teacher. And to some extent, I sympathise with them. There?s so many ways to learn guitar nowadays, it can be hard for a guitar teacher to make a living.

Taking guitar lessons from a teacher is definitely one of the quickest ways to learn (as long as you have a good teacher) but it?s also one of the most expensive.

Now we have the internet, a large proportion of guitarists are teaching themselves to play. But the problem with learning this way is that it can be a little hit and miss. You need some structure to learn the basic foundations of guitar playing. Sometimes this is why it?s a good idea to have a few lessons from a teacher to get the basics down, before you go off on your own.

There are plenty of famous guitarists who are well known for teaching themselves how to play guitar. But if you dig a little deeper, one of the common threads that ties all these guitarists together is how they learnt to develop their ear. Back in the old days, people would learn to play guitar by listening to records and copying the sound. This is, in my opinion, very significant.

Learning by ear is pretty rare nowadays, seeing as people can just hop online and learn the ?tab? of a song. But this means they aren?t developing their ear? which is a very important part of becoming a good guitarist. It?s also quite slow and time consuming (at least at first), but if you have a true passion for guitar, you will be able to stick with it through the tough beginning.

There are also a lot of books and DVDs on the market aimed at helping you learn guitar by yourself. Some of these are very helpful, but few of them teach you ?everything? you need to know. They rarely lay a solid foundation of musical knowledge. Instead, they focus on specific styles and techniques of guitar playing.

If your goals as a guitarist aren?t highly advanced, then it?s quite possible to learn guitar by yourself. If you want to just strum a few chords, for example, you probably won?t need months of lessons.

But if you want to master guitar, then sometimes lessons are the best way to learn. Just make sure you find a good teacher who understands what your goals are.

With either option you take, never forget to develop your ear. A good ear is what separates many average guitarists from good guitarists. Just remember that scales are the means, not the end. If you ever feel like your playing is stuck in a rut, then ear training could easily be the thing that permanently lifts you out of it.

I hope you find my advice useful when you?re deciding whether you should take guitar lessons or not. It?s certainly not a requirement to being a great guitarist.

Learn To Play Guide For Spanish Guitar

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

The Spanish Guitar

The Spanish guitar, also called the classical guitar, is an acoustic guitar with six nylon or gut strings that resembles the Flamenco guitar, and is the most widely used kind of guitar. The nylon-based strings are commonly used, making it easier to use for both plucking and strumming, and giving it a softer, warmer sound. In addition, carbon fiber or composite treble strings have also gained popularity. The body is usually constructed out of hard wood, such as rosewood, while spruce or cedar is typically used for the top. The Spanish guitar is mostly used in classical music, Latin music, Flamenco, Folk music, and in other contemporary styles such as country, rock, jazz, bluegrass, folk, and pop.

There are numerous manufacturers of the Spanish guitar all over the world. Spain remains the hub, and Ramirez is one of the most well-known manufacturers. However, major electric guitar companies such as Epiphone, Ibanez, Fender, and Gibson; and acoustic and electric guitar manufacturers such as Taylor, Yamaha, and Ovation also produce different types of Spanish guitars.

Brief History of the Spanish Guitar

The history of the Spanish guitar and its ancestor, the baroque guitar, spans over four centuries and dates back to the late 18th century, and through to the Renaissance period and most probably from the Greek kithara lyre. Notable arrangers, composers, and Spanish guitar players in history include Andr?s Segovia (1893-1987), Fernando Sor (1778-1839), Francisco T?rrega (1852-1909), Gaspar Sanz (1640-1710), John Williams (1941), and Mauro Giuliani (1781-1829). Today, contemporary artists such as Sting, Willie Nelson, Peter White, Eric Clapton, and Eddie Van Halen continue to influence the music world with the use of Spanish guitar.

What you should know when learning to Play Spanish Guitar

? The Spanish guitar is traditionally played using Finger Style Guitar, and combination of the finger tips and the nails.

? The Spanish guitar, while playing, is placed on the left leg which is raised with a footstool, while the right arm holds the guitar in place. This is for greater mobility and access to the strings and fingerboard.

? A plectrum or bow is typically not used to pluck the strings because using the fingers enables the player to produce polyphonic music. So Spanish/classical guitar music usually sustains 2 to 4 musical lines and voices.

? The Spanish guitar may however be played with a plectrum or bow in pop oriented music.

? The fingerboard is a little wider than other guitars to provide more space between the strings while plucking.

? Nylon strings are used to give a unique, speckled and rich color palette sound to the Spanish guitar.

? The Spanish guitar is intended to be played acoustically but electronic pickup systems have also been incorporated in many products for live performances.

Learn How to read Guitar Sheet Music and Play Guitar Like a Pro

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

Over the last few decades guitar playing had proved to be one of the more popular hobbies. Not only to teens but also for matured adults as well.

Maybe because guitar playing is not only fun and thrilling, but very intellectual too. If an academic genius is sharpened by reading books, a musical genius primarily uses his ears. And guitar is a great instrument to start learning with.

For beginners, one helpful way to learn how to play a guitar is by the use of a guitar sheet music. This music sheet serves as a guide to the correct placement of fingers in the fretboard to create a certain sound.

Guitar sheet music is more commonly referred to as Guitar Tablature.

Primarily, every song is composed of chords and every chord is composed of two or more notes. So basically, you shift the position of your fingers each time the chord changes. It is the rhythm and harmony that creates the melody and the music.

This guitar sheet music can be found in a song book or included in guitar kits upon purchase of the guitar instrument, or better yet, purchase a guitar music sheet that you feel is easy to learn.

To start with, choose a song that is familiar to you and which contains chords that are accessible to your greenhorn fingers.

As a beginner, you must be patient enough to be familiar with every shifting and positioning of your fingers. Take it slowly and attentively. Listen. The major sense organ that will be of use is your sense of hearing. First, listen to the radio or to a CD player for timing and phasing.

The music sheet cannot show you how fast or slow you need to strum so listen carefully as the song is played. If you can find a tutor, he can guide you with this matter, but if not, you have to learn it yourself. It will be helpful that you find a convenient place for you to practice on, a place away from distractions and noise.

One tip: Learn to play an entire song before moving on to the next. It may be hard at first but being able to play an entire song will help boost your confidence.

It is when you can play the whole song in the absence of the guitar music sheet that you will appreciate the accomplishment. And then the more you are learning, the more that you want to learn other songs. Who knows, sooner or later you may even write your own masterpiece!

A great website to help you learn to play guitar is called Jamorama which can be found at: http://www.Top65.com/a/?l=2

Learn to Play the Blues Guitar

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

Some of the best guitarists to ever live were playing the blues. The blues are not just a genre of music, or some chords on a guitar. The blues are a state of mind that must be fully embraced before you can even think about playing the blues on the guitar. You must try to gain inspiration from some of the greats that played before you: B.B. King, Eric Clapton, and Jonny Lang.

The best way to learn how to play the blues guitar is to listen and try to emulate the best that have played before you. If you can tap into the energy that they brought to the stage while they were playing, then you will be well on your way to playing the blues.

The actual playing of blues on the guitar is not terribly difficult. However to make a wonderful piece of music is almost impossible. The basic blues rhythm goes like this: 1 andthe 2 andthe 3 andthe 4. This is also known as playing triplets. If you can play in that rhythm, then you are on your way to learning to play the blues.

Another good tip is to leave your guitar pick at home. You will need to use all of your fingers to play some strings, and mute other strings. If you use a guitar pick you will take at least two of your fingers out of action. You can get away with this when playing other types of music, but you can not get away with that while playing the blues.

One of the most important aspects of playing the blues guitar is the ability to feel the music come from your soul and pour out through the guitar. You will want to only play with your guitar, an instrument cable, and an amp. Anything else will just get in your way and can actually hinder your progress as a blues guitarist.

If you try to use many different effects while playing your guitar, then you will not be able to fully envelop yourself in the blues experience.

It's Time To Learn Guitar!

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

Are you ready to play the unofficial "most cool instrument in the world"? Well, yeh, that's the guitar. Yes, playing guitar is cool. Some people miss out on it, though - but they'll look back later with remorse and say: "i studied classical piano when i could've been playing guitar..."

But since you've decided to learn guitar, I'd like to give you a few pointers to get you started.

First of all, if you're serious, get a decent instrument. Don't pick up a $50 guitar from Walmart. At least invest in a name brand beginner's guitar. I bought an Oscar Schmidt acoustic guitar from a friend for $90. A price like that sure didn't break the bank, but it's a quite decent guitar, especially for someone like me - my expertise is on the keyboard, not the guitar.

Secondly, get some help learning guitar. If you're pretty musical, you might get by with a DVD or instruction book teaching you how to play. Or, you may have a friend who can help you out a little. Most of us, though, will learn guitar quicker with a teacher. Find a teacher that is a good guitarist, but is also a good teacher. Also, be sure that they play the type of guitar music you want to learn. For example, if you want to play rock music, don't get a classical guitarist for a teacher!

Thirdly, learn guitar by playing songs that you love. It's much more fun to practice when you're playing your favorite songs. The great thing about contemporary guitar music is that no matter how much of a beginner you are, you can find great songs to learn. If you're really new, you might even want to try one of the old "three chord" rock songs, by the likes of Elvis.

Of course, one of the most important things you should do is practice!

Learn and Master the Guitar at Home

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

As a guitarist, I'm often asked this question - "What is the best way to improve my guitar playing given my limited time and budget?"

In this article, I'll explore how you can use a Guitar Learning Method on the the Internet to learn and master the guitar in the comfort of your own home. Compared to a personal tutor, learning the guitar online is a much more flexible and cost effective route.

You can take the lessons at your own pace and work it around your schedule, plus its far more affordable than a private guitar tutor.

So, what do you need to get started? Contrary to popular belief, you only need a few basic things to get started. Don't be caught up with all the hype around equipment, gadgets and learning aids.

First of all, you'll need a guitar. Bet you already knew that, but you don't have to wait for that perfect guitar to start, a basic acoustic guitar with fresh strings will do. Secondly, you'll need a PC with a decent set of speakers. Third, a private place to practice and learn is an added bonus. Finally, the most important thing you'll need is a whole lot of determination and tenacity. Guitar learning can be frustrating and you really need to keep at it to see results.

Now that you've got all that sorted out, get online and start learning! A good guitar training program should have step by step instructions with videos. You'll learn how to read notes and tab, form chords and recognize chord progressions by ear. Some programs will even provide you with custom software to help you develop a musical ear.

You'll be surprised at how much these excellent online music lessons will cost. Its a lot more affordable then you. Once you purchase it, it'll always be online for you to login and learn.

Be prepared to develop callous on your fingers and some pain on your wrists when you start. Some programs will also provide finger training exercises to help you strengthen your fingers (and you'll grow stronger skin on your fingers to compensate the callous).

The secret to learning the guitar successfully is persistence and practice. Don't rush the program and only move to the next lesson after you've mastered one. Many people give up when they don't seem to get anywhere in their playing, but remember that everyone needs to learn to crawl, then walk, then run! Get down your basics well and work on foundations like playing chords, developing a good sense of rhythm, the correct fingering techniques (bad habits will be hard to break later on), proper posture and handling of your guitar so you can enjoy playing long hours without hurting yourself.

I hope that this article will be useful to you on your musical journey. Remember to keep practicing and don't give up. If you read biographies of any great guitar players, you'll see a similar pattern: dedication to their craft and practice!

Using a MP3 Player to Learn Songs on Guitar

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

How can you use an Ipod or MP3 Player to learn a song on guitar faster? I asked myself that question a few weeks back, and started to learn ways I can implement my two favorite toys, my guitar and my MP3 player.

Here is what I did:

1. I recorded rhythm tracks on a drum machine and converted the files to MP3s and upload them to my MP3 Player. 2. I used these tracks to jam along with and improve my rhythm playing. 3. After finding guitar TAB for a song I wanted to learn, I ripped the song from my CD collection and upload it to my player 4. I used my amp with head phones only. 5. I put in the ear buds for the MP3 Player, and then put the amplifiers head phones over top. 6. Adjust the volume of the MP3 player and amplifier so the balance between the two is correct when playing. Be careful not to turn the volume too high, ear damage can happened if you are not careful.

Now play the song you want to learn on the MP3 player and use the guitar TAB to play along with the song. This method helps you learn timing and phrasing similar to the actual recording. It also forces better rhythm playing, since you will be trying to match the rhythm of the original recording.

It is important that you work with the TAB for a little while before you start using the MP3 player to jam along with. Learn the basic rhythm patterns, chords, scales and the key of the song. Make sure you listen to the song on the MP3 player as a clue to how the riffs work in the song. Then sit down and study the TAB until you have the basic riff worked out. After you have accomplished the basics it is time to start jamming along to the song with your MP3 player.

It may be difficult at first to keep up with the original recording, but you can set up most players to auto repeat a song, allowing you the chance to repeat the song until you start to improve. Repetition and perseverance are the secret to learning how to play any song or musical instrument.

With this method you will be surprised how fast you can learn your favorite song. By using this system I have been able to reduce the amount of time it takes to learn a song by more than 50%.

Learning to play guitar online has become a reality with the huge number of guitar learning resources on the internet. One of the best free guitar lessons out there are the ones hosted at About.com.

Some guitar sites, though, are not free but charge a lot for providing lessons. There are other sites which provide a good balance between quality and the fee charged. You might be wondering why pay for instruction if you could get it free at About.com?

Here a 10 reasons and tips for paying and downloading a properly laid-out guitar lesson material, and how to pick out the best ones:

1. Proven teacher. Paid guitar lessons are often written by guitarists who're acknowledged in the field. They've done their gigs, they've played to sold-out performances, and they want to leave a legacy behind by sharing their knowledge.

2. Proven method. Free sites normally promote lessons in a haphazard way without qualifying whether you're a beginner or advanced guitarist. The vote goes to paid lessons where it's stated clearly who the intended audience is.

3. Always check what credentials the site has. For example, if it comes recommended by Guitar World, that's a sure indication of the quality you'll be getting. Jamorama is one such website.

4. Listen to a few sample guitar lessons from the site. If this is not available, don't give your money to them! Hearing the samples is the only sure way of knowing you'll be getting your money's worth.

5. Do be sure that the materials will be immediately available for you to learn to play guitar online, and not offline. A number of sites do this the wrong way, and expect for you to pay additional shipping charges for a physical product. Don't pay more than you have to. For instance there's a site that charges a whopping $250 for shipping DVD pack, compared with only $40 if you download the online version! That's $210 you could save towards purchasing guitar accessories and other equipment.

6. Other online enhancements. The great thing offered on paid sites is the availability of bonus software or materials to imrpove the rate at which you learn the guitar, such as the ear training game and metronome software. Getting bonus programs that help tune your guitar is also expected. This is something you don't get on free sites.

7. Testimonials from satisfied customers. Ensure that the paid sites list credible testimonials from customers. The paid site must also put up review snippets from professional magazines and review sites.

8. Multiple approaches. The guitar lessons must attack the learning curve in more than one way, example straight chords, or playing to an accompanying track, or training your ear for chords, or beginner vs advanced lesson strategies, to name a few. Do not purchase material that only teaches you to play chords and nothing else.

9. Sign up for their mini course. The more sophisticated sites allow you to enter a valid email and have a preview or a free guitar lessons mini-course. This is where the paid sites really lose out. You're getting a free course from a paid website which is not only head and shoulders above the various free stuff floating on the internet in terms of quality, but you'll also get a firm idea of whether the materials sold on that site is meant for you or not.

10. Last but not least, the money-back guarantee. OK, we don't want to be freeloaders here, but an iron-clad, money back guarantee is a must. Sometimes there's just no way to make sure that the product is suited to your needs, so genuine sites will offer your money back if you return the product within a specified amount of time (60 days or less in most cases). This is another reason to get the guitar lessons online, as the refund will not cover the shipment charges on return products.

I hope this article has given you a clear idea on the next steps to take in your "Learn To Play Guitar Online" hunt.

Good luck!

Learn to Read Sheet Music and Forget the TAB - Advice For Guitarists

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

Reading sheet music can be very intimidating for a beginning guitarist. It is, after all, a brand new language composed of a lot of symbols that are new and alien. But Reading sheet music is a must for anyone who wants to be a serious guitarist and it will take your guitar playing well beyond anything that TAB will show you. Tablature is a crutch. It will only teach you how to play songs and compositions by rote. It is true that with Tab you will learn how to play a piece of music but in the process you are missing some of the real things that music, and being a musician are all about.

What is the goal of a guitarist?

Playing pieces of music is not the only goal of a guitarist. Growth in both technical ability and creativity are just as important. When you learn a piece of music by TAB you experience a certain amount of growth but as you master the piece your growth quickly levels off. You have learned the piece and you practice it only to keep it sharp. When you learn a piece of music with traditional sheet music you are not just learning the notes you are also learning another language. This exercising of your mind makes you more flexible, more capable, and more creative. With time and practice you recognize keys, chords, progressions and whole host of things you would never see with TAB.

Advantages of Reading Sheet music

Hearing the music -As your skill develops and your ears sharpen you will be able to pick up a piece of written sheet music and actually hear the notes without playing the guitar. It is a language that you have learned. For some this ability comes quickly and for others it takes years of practice.

Creativity - Learning a language exercises a new part of your brain. Everyday, as you apply yourself to learning this new language you will grow. And this growth promotes your creativity. You are given many more tools to work with and apply to your music composition and you gain a broader, and more colorful, understanding of music.

Sight Reading - - As you develop your skill in reading sheet music you will gain the ability to pick up a piece of music that you have never seen before and play it from sight. This ability makes you a competent musician and accelerates your ability to add pieces to your repertoire.

Breadth of Repertoire -- Does your taste in guitar music deviate from the mainstream? It can be very difficult to find tablature for pieces that are not mainstream. But you can always find the sheet music. It is the language of music.

Cross-pollination with other instruments - - If you have heard a piece of music written for another instrument; like the piano, bass guitar, cello, or anything else where would you find guitar tab for it? If you are able to read sheet music you can get a copy of the music, understand it, and transcribe it for your guitar. This holds true for sub-genres of guitar. There is an enormous amount of music available to guitarists that are not written in tab. Music like classical guitar, flamenco, Spanish and progressive/experimental. Reading sheet music gives you instant access to all these flavors of guitar.

The Ultimate Reward -

As a guitar player, or aspiring guitar player, you know that it is not something that you study for a few weeks and are done. Playing guitar is a life long pursuit and learning tablature is just a short cut that enables you to play some songs. But learning to read sheet music is a skill that will have a more profound impact on your experience with the guitar and with the music. It will make you a better, more creative, and more capable player. It will enrich your experience with the guitar and with the music in ways that tab never can.

Learning to Play Bass Guitar - 4 Guitar Playing Tips

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

Playing the guitar is one popular pastime nowadays. For some people, it is also a way of expressing themselves and elevates the hobby into an art form or sometimes, science.

Playing the guitar, however, is no joke. It requires a lot of patience and practice. For some people, they would rather study playing the bass guitar than the regular guitar. Here are some tips on learning to play the bass guitar.

1. Feel the beat

Playing the bass guitar differs primarily from playing a regular guitar because it entails an emphasis on the beat of the music. One can compare the bass guitar into a drum or percussion set that is made into a guitar. Beats are very important in playing bass guitar because this type of guitar gives depth and timing to any song.

If one grasps the notes of a regular guitar through his ears, a bass player grabs the notes of a bass guitar through his chest. The bass guitar pounds on the heart and gives it feelings through the depth of the music.

2. Learn the notes (single chords) on a regular guitar

The main thing about bass guitars is that they are tuned like ordinary guitars. The difference is that most regular bass guitars only have four strings which are far thicker than ordinary ones. This kind of strings allows the bass guitar to go very deep in terms of tone.

Take a regular guitar (which is tuned from the thickest to the lowest string- E - A - D - G - B - E) and exclude the two thinnest strings at the bottom and what is left is basically a bass guitar with thinner strings.

Bass playing is usually note-oriented and not chord-oriented. This means that single notes are hit more often in bass playing and this scheme is the essential element of bass playing. One should be familiar with the tunings and the notes in a regular guitar to be able to decently play the bass guitar.

3. Finger placing is important

Hitting the bass guitar fret board with the left-hand fingers is very important since it is a major factor that will determine the wholeness of each note. Try to place the fingers such that they are close to the fret on the right. The right hand should also be practiced so as to give bass guitar playing a holistic approach.

4. Strengthen your grip

Another important thing to develop in bass playing is the strength of both hand's fingers. The bass guitar is a sturdy and solid musical instrument, strength is needed to play it.

In playing the bass guitar, one should always take one lesson at a time. Bass playing requires repetition and there's no sense in hurrying the learning process. One should feel the notes through his soul and through his heart and become one with the bass guitar.

Learn to Play the Guitar

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

Here are some of the more common ways to learn to play the guitar. Try each method to see what works best for you.

Group Lessons: Learning guitar in a group setting can be less intimidating for the beginning musician. You not only get the benefit of having a teacher to help you along you can often judge your progress by where the other students are in the class. The worst part about taking guitar lessons in a group setting is the teachers time is divided so you may not get as much attention as you might need.

Private Lessons: This is the best way to learn to play the guitar if you can find the right teacher. The instructor can gauge your progress each week and custom design your lessons for you. You have your teachers' undivided attention and you can ask anything you feel is not clear.

CD Lessons: There are many instruction CDs available in nearly any style you can think of. The advantage of this style of learning is you can listen to the CD as many times as you want. Any part that is not clear can be replayed as many times as needed. The disadvantages include the songs may not be the ones you desire to learn and the instruction is more general without any way of knowing where you are in your musical journey.

DVD Lessons: Instruction on DVD includes all the good and bad points of the CD instruction. The number one advantage to learning guitar by watching DVD video is you can see what the instructor is doing. Visual learning goes a long way toward answering the questions burning in your mind.

Music Books: Music books are a time-honored way to learn how to play the guitar. You can find more books on more different styles than most any other way to learn. You need to be proficient in reading music if you do not know the song you are learning. Most folks have a hard time getting the song right if they do not know the song they are learning.

Internet: In these modern times the Internet is a wonderful resource in learning to play the guitar. There are many websites that will show you how to play the exact notes your guitar hero plays. Membership sights are plentiful where for a small monthly fee you can learn most any style you choose.

Friends: Do not overlook your guitar playing buddies. Most guitar pickers are a friendly bunch who will be more than happy to help you along.

Slowing Down Recordings: You can purchase software that slows down your favorite recordings. This allows you to hear each phrase at a speed where you can pick out the different notes. This is a great way to learn to play.

Playing With Other People: The very best way to learn to play the guitar is to get together with other people and play. This is the fastest way to learn. You will learn more by getting out and playing with other people than you ever will sitting at home playing by yourself.

The method you decide to use to learn to play guitar is up to you. Try to practice four or five times a week for 30 minutes at a time and you will be playing guitar before you know it.

Tips For Learning to Play the Electric Guitar

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

The electric guitar is one of the most powerful musical instruments today. It dominates every popular genre and style of music in the modern world. The sheer flexibility of the electric guitar in terms of volume, tone and sound quality makes it an ultimate musical instrument.

The electric guitar is an instrument of power or finesse, of speed or subtlety, but definitely, it is an instrument of musical glory. For those people who would want to learn how to play the electric guitar, here are some noteworthy tips:

1. Use a nylon guitar first

If one is thinking about learning how to play a guitar by using an electric guitar, he should think about it twice. If one is just learning how to play the guitar, he shouldn't do it with an electric guitar. Electric guitars use steel strings which can be very uncomfortable for beginners. Besides, learning the basics from an acoustic guitar teaches one to use a holistic guitar playing approach rather than relying on the effects and features of an electric guitar. Electric guitar playing should come subsequently after learning how to play using an acoustic guitar.

2. Know your electric guitar

If one already knows how to play a guitar and is thinking of buying an electric guitar, he should know the different features and qualities of the electric guitar. The same thing goes for people who are using an old electric guitar. Playing with the knobs and controls of the electric guitar will give one an idea of how to mix everything properly to be able to get an optimal sound. Electric guitars are not plug-and-play instruments, they require a lot of sensitivity in terms of mixing sounds and tones together.

3. Buy a decent amp

An expensive electric guitar will sound crappy on low quality amps on any given day. When getting an electric guitar amp, make sure to test the amp at the store. If possible, turn all the knobs to the highest value and listen to the sound that the amp will produce. There are also amps out there that have a built-in distortion option which can be switched on and off. This feature is especially useful for people who have no money to buy an effects box since a distortion feature is the most essential for any electric guitar.

4. Buy a decent effects box

An effects box is a great tool to have when playing an electric guitar. One can make all sorts of sounds using an effects box. The basic tones that one should look for in an effects box are: good distortion sounds, chorus, reverb, amp simulator and easy adjustments modules.

5. Get durable cables

Cables are also an integral part of the whole electric guitar system. Cheap and low quality cables are not worth investing into because they will wear out soon.

6. Listen to electric guitar tracks

A great way to holistically grasp the basics of electric guitar playing is to listen to great electric guitar classics. Many lessons are learned just by listening to different riffs and tunes that are produced from electric guitars.

Electric guitars are somewhat different from unplugged guitars. There are skills that are needed to play the electric guitar properly aside from the basic ones. Practice is always the best way to learn how to play the electric guitar.

Learning The Guitar Fretboard

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

I never cease to be amazed at the number of guitar players who cannot name the notes on their fretboard. Little do they know that by devoting a little time to unlocking the neck of their guitar they will improve their playing, and enjoyment of the instrument, ten fold!!

During my time at the Guitar Institute in London, and Sandown College Of Performing Arts in Liverpool, I met many guitarists who had been playing for 10, 15 or even 20 years, and yet, unbelievably, couldn't show me where to find an A# on the 2nd string or a B natural on the 5th string. My amazement prompted me to write the "Fretboard Master" ebook.

The "Fretboard Master" ebook contains all you need to know in order to become a master of the fretboard. What do we mean when we say master of the fretboard? Well, it doesn't mean that you will suddenly start sounding like Steve Vai, Segovia or Jimi Hendrix! A fretboard master is somebody who feels comfortable with their guitar, Somebody that can find any note on any string within a second and somebody that can transpose a piece of music on the spot. That is a fretboard master.

Many guitar players are usually only interested in learning hot licks or funky chords. That is good, as long as they also take time out to study the layout of the fretboard. The old saying "The proof is in the pudding," is so true when it comes to stating the importance of fretboard mastery. Once you start familiarising yourself with the notes on the neck of the guitar you will quickly discover how important it is. It will be like somebody has switched on a big musical light that shows you exactly what you have been missing. You will feel like a better player, look like a better player, inevitably sound like a better player and more importantly.....WILL BE a better player!!

Imagine learning a really cool chord progression, a red hot lick or a head turning funky guitar riff. You have spent hours practising it and you are now ready to unleash it on your band members. You play it, and they are all amazed at your stunning technique. They shake your hand, ruffle your hair, maybe even give you a shoulder lift around the rehearsal room. You feel great! Then when the fuss dies down, the bass player asks "Can you play that again in F#?" What? F#? You begin to sweat, your palms itch, your head races. Where's F#? you ask yourself. Too late! The drummer drops you from the shoulder lift and you hit the earth with a bang!! Ouch!! You blew it! You should have learnt your fretboard.

Take a tip from me. Whether you are just starting out or have been playing for a number of years, you need to learn you fretboard. There's no way round it. Do it today and who knows, maybe the next time you learn a cool guitar lick your drummer want drop you on the floor!
