Learning Guitar

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

Ask any accomplished musician how they became so good and they will all tell you the same thing: practice, practice and more practice. Sure some people may have a better ear for music than others and some people seem like they are born with an instrument in their hands. But no matter how much natural talent you have or haven?t got the only way that you are going to become anywhere near proficient is by putting in the hours day after day.

This rises a bit of a dilemma. Sure most of us would like nothing more than to be able to spend the day sitting around jamming and running a few riffs but the reality of life, whether you?re at school or a wage slave is that you just don?t have the time. Especially in a world that?s forcing you to be busier and busier every day.

That?s why it?s so hard to grab an hour or two every day to get in the practice time you need. It?s also why the time you can steal to practice needs to be as enjoyable and beneficial to you playing as possible. Your hobby and fascination for music has to be as enjoyable and productive as possible.

Luckily there are now a number of really cool ways that help to get the most benefit out of your practice time and get you to the next level of mastery in as little time as possible. Some products are way better than others but it is well worth the investment in software programs if you are really serious about getting good in as short a time as possible.

You may not think that a piece of software would give you step-by-step instructions to read tab and play by ear, but in fact, these aids are produced to play virtually any song that you ever hear on the radio. This kind of software let you discover how to read music, how to recognise chord shapes and how to transcribe songs from the radio and CDs, etc. Many are available free in the internet.

My recommendation is that while aids in the net are the easiest way to enhance your guitar skills, the old say:" practice, practice, practice" is what count if you want to be the best.

HAVING FUN LEARNING GUITAR

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

Are you having fun learning guitar? If there?s one thing I?ve discovered over the years as a teacher, it?s the importance of keeping things simple and fun for my students. This can sometimes require a bit of creative thinking on my part. But I find, if I pay attention to my students, I am often able to discover where their musical interests and desires lie. When I can key into these personal and motivational impulses, then I am able to direct that energy in a positive direction. The result is a happy student who is having fun learning guitar!

When a new student first arrives at my studio they are often filled with hopeful expectations. Many have visions of being able to play like one of their guitar heroes someday. This is all well and good as it establishes a goal. But it usually isn?t long before they realize that visions and reality can be worlds apart! Playing like a professional guitarist requires a bit of discipline and hard work, not to mention sore fingers! The trick to having fun learning guitar is to mix a little business with pleasure! To do this, I recommend that a student spend time practicing the fundamentals as well as learn something they want to play.

Often a student will mention to me that there is a song they?d like to learn. Even if I think that it?s beyond their current level and ability, I still do not want to discourage them from pursuing it. Instead, I try to break the song down into small, bite-size pieces, or perhaps pull out a particular technique for them to work on first. I have found this approach to be very effective because my guitar students are more inspired to practice when they are playing what they want to learn. Their skill level seems to improve more rapidly too, and they are enjoying themselves in the process. That?s what it?s all about in my book!

If a student doesn?t have a particular song in mind, then I will often suggest something for them to try. I find that simplified versions of classic rock riffs are great motivators- especially for kids. Some examples that I?ve used and had success with include Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple, and Foxy Lady by Jimi Hendrix. Another popular and easy rock riff is Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones.

If you?re a guitar student who is not having fun learning guitar, then I suggest you find something you?d like to learn. It will make a big difference in how you look at practicing!

Learning Blues Guitar - Common Scales Used In Blues Guitar- Part 2

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

Learning blues guitar can be frustrating if you don?t know what guitar scales to use. Because of that, in this blues guitar lesson we?ll take a look at another really common scale used in blues soloing. Once you master this guitar scale, you?ll have another great weapon in your lead guitar arsenal! So, with that in mind, let?s take a look at it now?

Blues Guitar Scale #2: The Major Pentatonic Scale

This is one of my favorite sounding guitar scales! To my ears, it has a very bright, open and happy sound to it. Some of my students have commented that its sound reminds them of country guitar. (But let?s not hold that against it! You can also use it to great effect in blues guitar solos).

The major pentatonic scale is a five note guitar scale that has this formula?

1 2 3 5 6

This formula tells us what we need to do to the major scale in order to create the notes of this scale. As an example, we?ll work out the notes of C major pentatonic scale?

Step 1:

Write down the notes that the C major scale uses. Here are the notes we get by doing this?

C D E F G A B

Step 2:

Remove the fourth and seventh notes from the C major scale. We do this because the formula of the major pentatonic scale doesn?t contain a 4 or a 7. This gives us the following notes?

C D E G A

These are the notes of the C major pentatonic scale. Pretty easy huh?

You now know the theory behind the major pentatonic scale, so what?s the next step? Putting it into practice! I believe that learning theory without actually playing it on your guitar is an absolute waste of time. We all know guitarists who know a LOT of theory, but their playing still sucks! Because I don't want this to happen to you, here are a few suggestions to help you apply this scale to your guitar?

  • Map the notes of the C major pentatonic scale onto a fretboard diagram.
  • Make up some fingerings for it on your guitar. There are no real rules. As long as you stick to the notes C D E G and A, you are playing the C major pentatonic scale.
  • Make up some licks that use the C major pentatonic scale.
  • Practice soloing over some blues backing tracks using the scale.
  • Work out the licks and solos of your favorite blues guitar players.

The possibilities are endless! The more ways you apply the major pentatonic scale to your guitar the better. Be creative, work hard, and most importantly...have fun!

If you are serious about learning blues guitar, (and would like to TOTALLY master the major pentatonic scale over the entire fretboard), then go to:http://www.GuitarScaleMastery.com

An Introduction To Learning To Play The Guitar

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

The guitar is a stringed musical instrument that is played by plucking or strumming the strings, while the fingers hold down the strings in certain combinations, to play the notes. Most guitars have six strings that are tuned on the scale E A D G B E. There are two broad categories of guitars today, acoustic and electric.

Acoustic guitars have hollow bodies, called sound boxes, which produce the sound, and thus do not need amplification. However, some modern ones do come with the electronics so that it can be connected to an amplifier. On the other hand, the body of an electric guitar is solid on only semi-hollow and needs to be connected to an amplifier to be heard.

Thanks to the electronics you can produce all kinds of effects and sounds with an electric guitar that is very hard or impossible to reproduce on an acoustic guitar. Samples of the special effects that can be produced on an electric guitar are: distortion, wah, phasers, compression, vibrato, flanging and chorus effect. These effects cause the sound produced by the same note to be different. For example:

- Distortion effect. This will produce a distorted and very heavy sound, as often used in heavy metal and rock music.

- Wah effect. The frequency of the note goes up and down each time you hit the foot pedal.

- Flanging effect. This effect causes a pause in the signal, followed by a series of the note originally played, sounding like an echo.

The guitar is used to play almost any kind of music, and is usually a big part of the music played by a band. Learning to play a guitar can be exciting and is a great way to entertain yourself and your friend.

When you decide to learn to play the guitar you will also have to learn tablatures and sheet music. Guitar sheet music is useful to guide you when learning to play the guitar, as you just have to follow the notes and tablatures illustrated on the sheet music. It is a great tool to help you play your guitar. By practicing frequently and being dedicated to learning the notes, you will soon be playing like an expert.

5 Tips To Learn To Play Guitar Online - Free Ecourse

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

5 Tips To Learn To Play Guitar Online

Learning to play guitar or any musical instrument is always a test of a person's true determination. Inspiration sparks the idea but persistance needs to carry it through.

Getting off to a good start is so important but can be confusing as there is now so much choice. There are a number of vendors we can visit to learn to play guitar online but which one is right for the new student?

In my experience, you want lessons that fully utilise as much multimedia as possible that engages and interacts with the student that wants to learn to play guitar online. Just so it can mimick what a normal guitar tutor would usually do for a student.

Tip 1:
I believe video lessons are essential so a student can view how his chordal and strumming technique should be when you learn to play guitar online. This would closer emulate a traditional guitar lesson situation rather than trying to figure things out from a book.

Tip 2:
Software or games that develop a students basic understanding of music theory is also highly recommended. Basic music theory will certainly open the doors to understand why you do certain things with regards to keys and scales.

Tip 3:
Also the ability to develop rock solid timing is important in my book. Generally, alot of students aren't used to this kind of performing because they have been used to practising in 'freetime'.

Tip 4:
Any additional backing music that a student can play along to that emulates a band environment is a huge bonus. This is what transitions a guitarist from the bedroom into the practise room with the greatest of ease so any program that incorporates a metronome is a tremendous asset to the student.

Tip 5:
Anything that helps to develop the 'musical ear' when you learn to play guitar online should be a factor as well. It's the recognition of subtle nuances in pitch and performance that can really speed up the learning process.

A nice extra when you learn to play guitar online is if the lessons include a guitar tuner of some sort. In the early stages, a student's musical ear isn't that developed and tuning a guitar can be a real hassle. Definitely a nice bonus.

As a tutor, I've found the Jamorama course does a great job to cover all the tips above in one package and is tremendous value.

Free Jamorama Introductory Course

Jamorama provides a free 6 part e-course which includes audio and video content along with music learning software. It's definitely worth signing up just for this alone.

You can visit Jamorama here to learn alot more about them and the great lessons package they provide.

How To Learn Bass Guitar

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

Many people believe that learning bass guitar is something that is very hard to do when, in fact, it is actually quite easy to learn. The great thing about it is that you only have to learn to play small pieces at a time and you can progress very quickly in your learning stages. There are many people that want to know how to learn bass guitar but simply don't know where to go and what to get in order to do so.

How to learn bass guitar

First of all, let me say that if you are a complete beginner to this instrument or any instrument for that matter, you will find that it is not only very easy to learn but is also extremely enjoyable, if you feel like you are not progressing enough or that it is a little hard for you (not likely) then just slow down and go over things at your own pace, the rewards are great when you do learn bass guitar so stick with it and don't give up.

If you have a family member or friend that has a bass guitar then it would probably be a good idea to just get fimiliar with the instrument, you do not have to get good at playing it at this stage but instead just get into a comfortable position with it and go over the different parts of it, this is simply to let you understand a little more about the instrument, you do not have to do this, it is not essential but can be a nice little introduction to it.

You may also wish to watch someone else who knows how to learn bass guitar, as in, someone that has learnt it before and see how they do things, this will give you an idea of what it is like for someone in your position and they may even be able to give you a few tips about learning how to play it.

Of course, if you wish to learn to play then you will need to get yourself a guitar or at least rent one, so get yourself one somehow and again, get a feel for it and become comfortable with it.

The first real step to learning to play bass guitar is to simply find a manual or instruction guide that will walk you through the process easily and in my opinion, this is a better way to learn than hiring a teacher or going to a class simply because it allows you to do things at your own pace and if you feel uncomfortable trying to play in front of others, you will be able to do everything in your own home or somewhere you can be alone, you can find a manual on the internet.

You Can Learn to Play the Guitar

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

In high school, did you ever dream about starting your own rock band? Want to duplicate the soothing sounds of folk tunes for family and friends? Does your favorite musician work magic with a Gibson ES 335? Is Jimi Hendrix your idol? It doesn?t matter the reason why you want to play the guitar - a seed has been planted and now it is time to nurture the desire.

Where to begin? Playing guitar (whether for fun or professionally) takes patience and determination. By following a few tips, you can harness your passion or interest for the instrument. You will also find that fueling your creativity and developing this new form of expression will take time. Great guitar players do not blossom overnight.

Purchasing a Guitar

Before you start learning the ropes of guitar playing, you?re going to need an instrument to carry out your lessons. The type of music you wish to play will determine the kind of guitar you require. For example, an acoustic guitar is used to generate the sounds of country, ragtime or folk. The body of the guitar is large and hollow, creating a sound that many deem ?natural.? Rock music often utilizes an electric guitar, which offers a rather distinctive amplified sound. Additional guitars to look into include the steel, solid body, archtop, resonator, bass and twelve-string guitar.

With the purchase of a guitar, there are other necessary pieces of basic equipment. A guitar pick is required to help play the chords of your instrument. The size of guitar pick is quite small, prompting easy breakage and it can also be easily misplaced. This is why beginners should have a good number of guitar picks on hand. When purchasing picks, the medium gauge varieties are suggested because they are less apt to break. You should also invest in a comfortable chair.

Getting Lessons

While some guitar players are able to naturally experiment with chords by ear and strum along with less guidance, others require the assistance of structured lessons. There are numerous ways to learn how to play the guitar. If you are able to afford a private tutor, you can take advantage of one-on-one instruction, which may speed up the learning process. Sometimes, beginners benefit from group learning, which provides a wealth of constructive criticism. The Internet also offers a way for beginners to privately learn online. Some websites offer a computer keyboard lesson on learning scales, which some beginners find quite easy.

Whichever approach you take in learning to play guitar, you should know that setting goals for yourself makes the process more rewarding. Achieving personal milestones further motivates your desire to find a common ground with the instrument and who knows how far your lessons will take you.

Recognizing why you want to play guitar in the first place will also help you to better accomplish your goals. Some people want to learn to play for fun, peaking with a performance in front of family and friends. Others would like to share their talents with a slightly larger crowd, probably visiting a few coffee shops or open-mic nights. Then there are the masses of learners who have bigger dreams of taking to a stage in front of thousands. No matter what the goal is, you can?t get there without loads of practice.

What You Will Learn

Guitar lessons usually start with building a basic foundation, such as how to properly hold the guitar and establishing correct posture when playing. There is a wide range of techniques involved in playing the guitar and after a few lessons, you may start to find your niche.

One of the most important things to focus on when playing a guitar is understanding and mastering the chords. There are books and charts to help you along this important part of the process. There are many different chords to familiarize yourself with and taking them one at a time will lead to better results.

Additional areas of guitar instruction may include learning how to properly hold a pick, memorizing scales, tackling music theory and selecting a music style. Instrument maintenance, such as tuning and caring for your guitar is also of importance.

Sticking With It

Staying motivated is one of the best things you can do when learning to play the guitar. It is easy to become frustrated with a new project and abandon it before truly experiencing any benefits. On some days, you may have to dig deep to reclaim your passion and dedication. Other days, you could be composing the next pop hit. Give the process a chance and remember that it takes time to get the hang of this instrument. The best thing you can do is continue to practice and soon, you will reap the rewards of hard work and focus.

Using a MP3 Player to Learn Songs on Guitar

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

How can you use an Ipod or MP3 Player to learn a song on guitar faster? I asked myself that question a few weeks back, and started to learn ways I can implement my two favorite toys, my guitar and my MP3 player.

Here is what I did:

1. I recorded rhythm tracks on a drum machine and converted the files to MP3s and upload them to my MP3 Player. 2. I used these tracks to jam along with and improve my rhythm playing. 3. After finding guitar TAB for a song I wanted to learn, I ripped the song from my CD collection and upload it to my player 4. I used my amp with head phones only. 5. I put in the ear buds for the MP3 Player, and then put the amplifiers head phones over top. 6. Adjust the volume of the MP3 player and amplifier so the balance between the two is correct when playing. Be careful not to turn the volume too high, ear damage can happened if you are not careful.

Now play the song you want to learn on the MP3 player and use the guitar TAB to play along with the song. This method helps you learn timing and phrasing similar to the actual recording. It also forces better rhythm playing, since you will be trying to match the rhythm of the original recording.

It is important that you work with the TAB for a little while before you start using the MP3 player to jam along with. Learn the basic rhythm patterns, chords, scales and the key of the song. Make sure you listen to the song on the MP3 player as a clue to how the riffs work in the song. Then sit down and study the TAB until you have the basic riff worked out. After you have accomplished the basics it is time to start jamming along to the song with your MP3 player.

It may be difficult at first to keep up with the original recording, but you can set up most players to auto repeat a song, allowing you the chance to repeat the song until you start to improve. Repetition and perseverance are the secret to learning how to play any song or musical instrument.

With this method you will be surprised how fast you can learn your favorite song. By using this system I have been able to reduce the amount of time it takes to learn a song by more than 50%.

Guitar Warehouse is your place to Buy Guitar and other musical gear. We also offer a wide range of free guitar lessons and tips.

Learn to Play the Guitar

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

Here are some of the more common ways to learn to play the guitar. Try each method to see what works best for you.

Group Lessons: Learning guitar in a group setting can be less intimidating for the beginning musician. You not only get the benefit of having a teacher to help you along you can often judge your progress by where the other students are in the class. The worst part about taking guitar lessons in a group setting is the teachers time is divided so you may not get as much attention as you might need.

Private Lessons: This is the best way to learn to play the guitar if you can find the right teacher. The instructor can gauge your progress each week and custom design your lessons for you. You have your teachers' undivided attention and you can ask anything you feel is not clear.

CD Lessons: There are many instruction CDs available in nearly any style you can think of. The advantage of this style of learning is you can listen to the CD as many times as you want. Any part that is not clear can be replayed as many times as needed. The disadvantages include the songs may not be the ones you desire to learn and the instruction is more general without any way of knowing where you are in your musical journey.

DVD Lessons: Instruction on DVD includes all the good and bad points of the CD instruction. The number one advantage to learning guitar by watching DVD video is you can see what the instructor is doing. Visual learning goes a long way toward answering the questions burning in your mind.

Music Books: Music books are a time-honored way to learn how to play the guitar. You can find more books on more different styles than most any other way to learn. You need to be proficient in reading music if you do not know the song you are learning. Most folks have a hard time getting the song right if they do not know the song they are learning.

Internet: In these modern times the Internet is a wonderful resource in learning to play the guitar. There are many websites that will show you how to play the exact notes your guitar hero plays. Membership sights are plentiful where for a small monthly fee you can learn most any style you choose.

Friends: Do not overlook your guitar playing buddies. Most guitar pickers are a friendly bunch who will be more than happy to help you along.

Slowing Down Recordings: You can purchase software that slows down your favorite recordings. This allows you to hear each phrase at a speed where you can pick out the different notes. This is a great way to learn to play.

Playing With Other People: The very best way to learn to play the guitar is to get together with other people and play. This is the fastest way to learn. You will learn more by getting out and playing with other people than you ever will sitting at home playing by yourself.

The method you decide to use to learn to play guitar is up to you. Try to practice four or five times a week for 30 minutes at a time and you will be playing guitar before you know it.

Tips For Learning to Play the Electric Guitar

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

The electric guitar is one of the most powerful musical instruments today. It dominates every popular genre and style of music in the modern world. The sheer flexibility of the electric guitar in terms of volume, tone and sound quality makes it an ultimate musical instrument.

The electric guitar is an instrument of power or finesse, of speed or subtlety, but definitely, it is an instrument of musical glory. For those people who would want to learn how to play the electric guitar, here are some noteworthy tips:

1. Use a nylon guitar first

If one is thinking about learning how to play a guitar by using an electric guitar, he should think about it twice. If one is just learning how to play the guitar, he shouldn't do it with an electric guitar. Electric guitars use steel strings which can be very uncomfortable for beginners. Besides, learning the basics from an acoustic guitar teaches one to use a holistic guitar playing approach rather than relying on the effects and features of an electric guitar. Electric guitar playing should come subsequently after learning how to play using an acoustic guitar.

2. Know your electric guitar

If one already knows how to play a guitar and is thinking of buying an electric guitar, he should know the different features and qualities of the electric guitar. The same thing goes for people who are using an old electric guitar. Playing with the knobs and controls of the electric guitar will give one an idea of how to mix everything properly to be able to get an optimal sound. Electric guitars are not plug-and-play instruments, they require a lot of sensitivity in terms of mixing sounds and tones together.

3. Buy a decent amp

An expensive electric guitar will sound crappy on low quality amps on any given day. When getting an electric guitar amp, make sure to test the amp at the store. If possible, turn all the knobs to the highest value and listen to the sound that the amp will produce. There are also amps out there that have a built-in distortion option which can be switched on and off. This feature is especially useful for people who have no money to buy an effects box since a distortion feature is the most essential for any electric guitar.

4. Buy a decent effects box

An effects box is a great tool to have when playing an electric guitar. One can make all sorts of sounds using an effects box. The basic tones that one should look for in an effects box are: good distortion sounds, chorus, reverb, amp simulator and easy adjustments modules.

5. Get durable cables

Cables are also an integral part of the whole electric guitar system. Cheap and low quality cables are not worth investing into because they will wear out soon.

6. Listen to electric guitar tracks

A great way to holistically grasp the basics of electric guitar playing is to listen to great electric guitar classics. Many lessons are learned just by listening to different riffs and tunes that are produced from electric guitars.

Electric guitars are somewhat different from unplugged guitars. There are skills that are needed to play the electric guitar properly aside from the basic ones. Practice is always the best way to learn how to play the electric guitar.

Learn To Play Guitar Chords: Learn To Play Turnarounds On Your Guitar

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

Turnarounds are chord progressions with the last chord taking you back to the first chord thus making it possible to play these progressions over and over again as an intro to a song, an ending or between verses. Here are some nice sounding but easy turnarounds for you!

In order not to mess up the layout with the guitar tab staff I will not include left hand fingerings but I suggest that you choose left hand fingers carefully so you don't get into trouble!

However, in order to learn to play these guitar chord progressions as intended I will say something about your right hand fingerings.

When you play these progressions on your guitar I suggest that you play the bass notes with your thumb and the first three guitar strings with you first finger, middle finger and ring finger.

Of course you can use a pick if you hate picking with you right hand fingers. If you strum the chords you will have to mute unused strings with your left hand fingers or otherwise you can pluck the strings with your pick using different patterns.

The first chord progression includes the guitar chords A F#m7 Bm11 and E7. You can use any right hand pattern you like as you play the chords.

1. ---0---0---0---0--- 2. ---2---2---3---3--- 3. ---2---2---2---1--- 4. ------------------- 5. ---0-------2------- 6. -------2-------0---

Our second turnaround consists of the guitar chords Amaj7, F#7, Bm11 and E7. When you learn to play these turnarounds I strongly suggest that you follow my advice above about left hand fingerings.

When you have found the most effective fingerings for the guitar chords it is important that you stick to the fingerings so that you can learn the progressions by heart and be able to move between chords fluently.

1. ---0---0---0---0--- 2. ---2---2---3---3--- 3. ---1---3---2---1--- 4. ------------------- 5. ---0-------2------- 6. -------2-------0---

Turnaround number three is a bit harder to play, at least the last chord which requires a bit of stretching. The chords are A, F#7+, Bm11 and Bb7add+11.

Try to move your fingers as little as possible when changing chords. To keep the fingers close to the fretboard will help you change chords smoothly. Here is the guitar tab:

1. ---0---0---0---0--- 2. ---2---3---3---3--- 3. ---2---3---2---1--- 4. ------------------- 5. ---0-------2---1--- 6. -------2-----------

The last guitar tab turnaround consists of the chords Aadd9, C9, Fmaj and Bb9+11.

The most difficult and most important thing when playing chord progressions on your guitar isn't to hold a chord but to change between chords.

To practice really effectively you can choose two consecutive chords and practice changing between them in a slow tempo.

1. ---0---0---0---0--- 2. ---2---3---1---1--- 3. ---4---3---2---1--- 4. -----------3------- 5. ---0---3-------1--- 6. -------------------

Now you can play four guitar progressions that of course can be mixed. You can replace the second chord in a progression with a second chord from another progression and so on.

I will end this learn to play guitar article by showing you a right hand pattern you can use with the chords. Use the pattern once for every chord in the progression. The thumb will of course be on different bass strings depending on the chord.

1. ---a---a--- 2. ---m---m--- 3. ---i---i--- 4. ----------- 5. ---p------- 6. -----------

There are many common turnarounds that are used frequently in pop songs like the old pop song Diana, Last Christmas and many more. To practice the common progression C, Am, Dm, G7 in different keys is a good way to learn how chords are related and also a good way to practice the art of changing between chords in a smooth way.

Want To Learn How To Play Guitar? Some Things To Consider

Simple Step By Step Guitar Lesson. If You Cant Learn GUITAR From This Lesson Then You Cant Learn Guitar Anymore

         >>  Dont Even Think Of Trying Other Prodicts untill You Read This <<

??that ain?t workin?, that?s the way you do it. Play the guitar on the Mtv?? - from Money For Nothing by Dire Straits

So you or someone you know has decided they want to learn how to play guitar. It looks easy enough. And believe it or not it?s not as hard as some people would have you believe. You can learn how to play guitar very quickly if you are focused on learning and practice regularly.

Getting lessons from a qualified teacher is probably the best way of learning, but sometimes just finding a qualified teacher can be a daunting task. Be sure that the teacher has your best interest at heart and wants to teach you how to play guitar and not just take money from you.

Also, decide what you want to learn. Do you want to learn to strum some basic chords so you can sing around the campfire or in church? Maybe you want to learn music theory so you can write your own songs. Perhaps you want to learn to shred like Eddie Van Halen or Steve Vai. Whatever your motivation to learn how to play guitar, make sure the instructor you choose will help you achieve your goals.

Suppose you decide you want to save some money and teach your self how to play guitar. It can be done. Some of the best guitar players were self taught. There is a virtually endless list of resources available on the internet. A simple trip to your favorite search engine will attest to that.

So what is an aspiring guitar player to do? I would suggest visiting as many web sites as you can and see what type of instruction they have to offer. There are a lot of inadequate guitar oriented sites that want to teach you how to play guitar by simply selling you a cheesy piece of software and send you on your way. Before buying any instructional software check for testimonials or customer reviews.

Books are often the most economical way to teach yourself how to play guitar. Method books will get you up to speed quickly. I teach children how to play using the CAGED method (see http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0962477060/ref=nosim/allthingsguit-20 . This works well because it gets them playing music quickly and not plunking out ?Mary Had A Little Lamb? which keeps them interested in learning how to play guitar and possibly help them become a student of the guitar.

Whichever method you choose to use to learn how to play guitar, nothing will replace regular practicing. Remember, we are all born with the same musical skills. You have to decide to develop your skill set.

A life long guitar player, I now spend my time teaching guitar and researching the best guitar resources on the web. Check http://how--to-play-guitar.blogspot.com for more tips.
