Trying to learn all scales in all 12 keys leads to a feeling of overwhelm for most guitarists! It can take months to learn a scale to mastery in one key. Especially if you want to know that scale over the entire fretboard AND be able to improvise fluently with it. For some guitarists, just thinking that they need to do this in all 12 keys is too much. They just give up! Here is a much better approach?

1. Find out what the most common keys are for the style of music that you play.
2. List the keys in order. You will put the most common key at the top, and the least common key at the bottom.
3. Master the key that is at the top of the list.
4. Master, (one at a time), the rest of the keys on your list.

I've always wanted to be a guitar player and I remember seeing a guitar in a shop window and falling in love with the thing at first sight, I went into the store the following morning and put down a small deposit, then paid down a little on it each week from the money I got from my paper round until I was able to take it out the store before Christmas, I got home and took it out of the case, I was fourteen at the time and didn't know one chord but I started strumming it for awhile and within minutes my fingers were extremely sore, for some weird reason I remember being teased coming home with the instrument by some school friends, I decided that no matter how long it took I would prove to them I would be able to play it.

I went into the music store in town and got myself a guitar tuition book, I made sure it was one of the easiest books I could get hold of with clear drawings of the chord and hand positions but even sitting down to try out some of the chords was like touture and painful, I began to feel that I was the only person on earth who owned a guitar and couldn't play it because everyone I knew that owned one had no problem playing it, as far as I was concerned anyone who could play three chords or more was a genius.

I really wanted to play the guitar, there were times when I felt like giving up, I just couldn't see any improvement, I would have given anything to get to a standard good enough to play with a band let alone do a gig, I realised that I would have to practice hard no matter how painful it would be and master holding chords from A to G then sharps and flats, there were even the tricky and fiddly major and minor keys as well that I always dreaded coming across but I went over them night after night until the pain slowly tolerable and my fingers became stronger, I listened to a lot of records and practiced various riffs from them, whenever I heard a chord I wasn't sure I picked it out and practiced it until I was familiar with defining chords by ear.

I started to listen to many different forms of musical styles and discovered various scales and patterns that widened my creativity in playing music, as I turned sixteen I gained enough confidence to play with bands, getting used to chord changes and practice lead guitar, the process for me wasn't easy, it involved shifting from rhythm playing to soloing and adjusting tone and volume levels within split seconds as well as keeping good timing throughout the whole ordeal. The Blues History

There are many books on the history of blues. It was born in the 20th century's Mississippi Delta in the U.S., short after the Civil War. This music style was played by slaves and white people referred to it as sorrow songs, plantation songs or workaday songs. The term blues was used for the first time around 1925.

It is believed that the band leader William Christopher Handy was the one to write the first blues songs in 1909, which was later printed and documented. The song was initially called Memphis Blues and got the name of Mister Crump later. He got his inspiration from a blues song he heard in the Mississippi railway station six years earlier. W.C. Handy wrote other songs too, such as Beale Street Blues or St. Louis Blues and nowadays there's a blues award named after him - the W.C. Handy Award.

The secrets of learning guitar are mostly based on the foundation.To have a good foundation for future success,we need to consider three important factors :-

1.Listening :

Ear training is a MUST basic training that every guitar learner should have.But most of them avoid this as quite a boring and time-consuming job.Without a good listening,we are unable to move to higher level. To overcome this problem,I suggest that guitar learner may choose one of the well-known Ear-Training software on Internet.I found that there are few really good software that train your listening step by step and really FUN.You feel like playing game when you learn.

2.Daily Practice : (Both fingers and ears)

Daily practice is another thing we should do.(Ex.Fingers exercises,practice for the basic scales) I suggest that beginners practice PENTATONIC SCALE at the starting point because this scale is the most simple scale that only have five tones.Try to practice 20 to 30 minutes daily.Remember that even 20 minutes daily practice is more effective than few hours of unconstant practice.Relax and concerntration are important.

3.Look for a teacher :

You may find either private guitar teacher or guitar lessons on internet.For my opinions,learn guitar from internet may be better because of the convenience of time and much cheaper.There is just one question of learning from internet that what lessons to choose,what lessons are really work.Myself as a guitar lover have been playing guitar for 15 years.I do the research on guitar lessons from internet over 5 years for myself and my groups and I've spent a lot of money for it.
